Terrible experience with manager

I stopped in on 3/23 and there was an extended wait time, I asked about scheduling an appointment for 3/25, the woman working scheduled me for a 4:15 appointment, I left work early that day and when I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment time the 2 ladies working said it would be a 30 min wait, I advised I had a 4:15 appointment time and she said yeah we dont honor those, thats more of a suggested time walk ins take precedent, she was extremely rude, I asked for a phone # to reach out to corporate she said yeah, Im not going to give you that, dig for it online. I asked for her name she said Ashley Burns, Im the manager. I stated I was disappointed and upset over this and she laughed and said ok have a nice day.

They totally ruined my hair when they cut it

I went into cost cutters located in Austintown Ohio on raccoon road there was a girl there named Hannah her hair was bobbed kind of a long bob didn't really look inverted I've always worn my hair with a lot as a lob inverted in the back long layers I asked her to cut my hair I want to keep it as a lob down in between my shoulder and my chin she cut my hair so high up that it could not be bobbed it could not be logged I have my hair cut to my ears and all they do is give you your money back I will never go there again I will never recommend anybody go there when it was famous hair I never had a problem I saw the same the same girl every time and she always did my hair perfect this girl Hannah I found out is 19 years old this is probably the very first job she's ever had cutting hair my hair is natural curly and with my hair being so short I have curls all over my head I have cried and I will never go back there again management will do absolutely nothing other than refund your money I would not recommend anybody go there for anything at any time all I wanted was a lob with long layers and with an inverted in the back and she ruined my hair

User's recommendation: I would highly recommend no one go to the store if you live in Austintown or in the Youngstown area they will ruin your hair and then do nothing about it

You are rip off merchants and you call yourself. Cost cutters your greedy lying merchants and I dont care if youre a convience store, the prices are half of what you charge at the other convenience stores just around the corner! I will never ever shop at your stores again.

Very unhappy never going back

I have been getting my hair cut for many years at the shop on Summerlin in Fort Myers. I always request the same stylist. Craig (Roy). I called on Wed. and spoke to woman who I thought booked my appointment for that Saturday at 9 a.m.I always arrive at 8:30 so I am never late. This Saturday I got there at 8:30 as usual and at 9:00 I was told "Sorry, you don't have anp appointment and was turned away. I have been a faithful customer for years. It clearly states on the front door "walk-ins welcome" I took Saturday off from my job so that I could get my hair done. I will NEVER go back to a cost cutter shop again. Laura

Very disappointed

I have been going to this salon for many, many years and am a loyal customer of Craig (Roy). I called on Wed to make an appointment for 9:a.m. on Saturday. I took the day off of work and arrived at 8:30 so I would not be late. At 9:00 Craig came out and told me that I didn't have an appointment booked.I assured him that I called but he just said "sorry". I was dumbfounded and extremely disappointed in him and the company. I have never seen such poor customer service in my life. I work with clients at an animal clinic and I know what customer service is all about. They will NEVER see me in that salon again.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

Firstly, I understand COVID-19 has required businesses to put procedures into place for the safety of customers and employees.

I took my 6 year old son into the Lake Mills cost cutters for a hair cut.

1. Firstly, they required my 6 year old to wear a mask but didn't require the receptionist to wear a mask..

interesting..and irritating.

2. no chairs for parent to sit in and wait for child- a chair or two could safely be put into the lobby distanced a part while people wait and sanitized after the waiting party leaves. I will say after about 4 min of debating sitting in my car and leaving my child inside the store alone they did offer a seat in one of the hair cutting stations.

3. while the hair cutter was washing my son's hair the water was too hot..

so hot that he moved his head away from being burned. Then was scolded by hair cutter for moving.. no apology for burning his head..WILDLY IRRITATING!

4. during the cut my son complained several times about the hair cutter being too rough..

he has had plenty of cuts in the past and has never complained about his hair being pulled to roughly. She again did not apologize and said, "I have to have tension to cut evenly."

5. Hair cutter asked how we would like the style. I asked to look at a book for cuts, no books (understandably) so I said I would look online.

no service which was acknowledged by both employees and no WIFI was offered even though it popped up as available for cost cutters.. we went with a trim 1/2-1 inch and I advised I would look at it when complete to make sure no further cut was needed. However, at the end of the cut, the hair cutter asked my 6 year old how it looked and he said it looked good. The hair cutter didn't make sure I (the parent and paying party) was okay with the cut before proceeding to shuffle my son out of the area and proceed to clean the hair cutting area.

I had to check his hair while standing and just decided to leave because clearly getting a good cut wasn't happening with this hair cutter..

who supposedly had "30" years experience.

It took every part of this mama bear to not lose it. I will never go here again and honestly want my money back.

Extremely unsatisfied with the cut

I went to the Conley Rd. location and was served by THE MANAGER--CASSIE THOMAS.

I asked for the back of my hair to get three or four inches off with the sides tapered in rather than a blunt cut. Got home and top back was about three inches long. I went to show the owner (who was gone) but LOVELY BRITTANY at Nyfong said it wasn't even layered--it was chopped! She tried to fix it but there was only so much she could do-- make it blend in a bit better.

I have been growing my hair for more than 12 years, now it barely touches my collar!!! I first called CASSIE THOMAS and she hung up on me--no apology, no refund offer--just hung up the phone. I called back and told her partner that she had hung up so now I want to tell this girl and everybody else what CASSIE THOMAS did. This girl apologized and offered me the owner's number.

I have been happy with my trims and brow waxes from there before, but CASSIE THOMAS ruined Cost Cutters for me. It will literally take YEARS for that top layer to reach my collar and in the meantime, because my hair is too fine to be layered, it is a frizzed mess with humidity.

It should have been all nearly half way down my back after CASSIE THOMAS cut it. I was so upset that I failed to get BRITTANY'S last name, but she got me a full refund, a "fix" and even sealed it with a hug--LOVE BRITTANY at Nyfong!!

Nothing has been done to fix it for fear they would chop it worse than it already is. Just letting it grow out but still dealing with a chopped up mess.

Looking in to buying a wig. Ugh

I took a picture of the hairstyle so there was no misunderstanding of how I wanted my hair cut. The girl chopped it and it won't lay down at all. It didn't look at all like the pic. She asked the other stylist to see if she could help but it was too late to fix it. Never again! They used to wash and blow dry it but now they don't even wet it down but still charge full price.

Made me wait ten minutes outside. Haircut scheduled at 4:30pm didnt start till 440pm. Crooked haircut.in the back, and they charge 3 dollars extra for some sort of sanitation fee. Up charging current customers because business is down. Will not go there again

Why is there an option to book an appointment online that doesn't even work? I've tried everything to book my appointment online. Multiple devices, created a Cost Cutters account. I understand not taking online bookings but saying you do but disabling the option?

I just returned to Cost Cutter to cut my hair and was charged a $3.95 sanitation fee. This totally unacceptable. We as customers should not have to pay for this. Other establishment neither charge this or raise their fees. I have three relatives and one friend that are not coming back to Cost Cutters because of this fee. This needs to stop immediately!
