Cost Cutters - The minute you walk in the door the person that is cutting someone's hair leaves them

So the poor guy sitting in the chair getting his hair cut had to sit. There twice while the hairdresser left him first to ask me if I needed help with products she was only worried about the commission on those products, I said I was looking, ready to check out races to check me out to get that commission, while her customer had to sit there a second time while she attended me, he did not look happy, cost cutters get yourself a full time receptionist, hello.
I'm done shopping there because of thaT!! It's all about the money not your customers

The reason they worry so much about selling retail is that the company require them to make certain numbers in order to keep their jobs...I know...used to work for them
Most of the smaller styling salons operate that way. Their costs are lower and one way they can do that is by not having a receptionist.
Also I have never seen one of these salons that are so busy they need a receptionist. Being you mentioned commission, are you aware that hair stylists receive commission on every service that they provide, whether it is selling product, hair cuts, perms, colors, etc.? Were there any other stylists available or was she only one there yet.
I have heard of some stylists that make the agreement, that one will wait on one customer that is looking at product, and another one will wait on the next customer, etc. I have never seen a client that was being worked on get annoyed about having to wait a couple minutes while the stylist is helping a customer purchase something or even answering the phone.
B.s. the cost cutters I work at is extremely busy and yes you are required to run your *** off answering phone and checking in customers all while your customer is waiting on your chair it's very infair to the customer and the employee as an employee you do not get any vacation pay unless u are at 10% product sales this is why exactly people do not stay working there you will never get ahead it's constant running always after 3 and weekends and not staffed enough when it's busy just plain B.s.! So if your gonna work there try to take the good with the bad if that's possible otherwise move on to be your own boss all the chains are the same I've tried them all
